I don't know about you, but it seems most people prefer college sports to pro sports in the circles I run around in. The other day I read a news clip about Lebron James and how he wasn't living up to expectations during the finals. I have to admit that since Michael Jordan left the first time, I haven't really been impressed with the NBA. It just seems like a bunch of whiny overpaid players playing an exhibition type basketball game. Now I know the stresses of the job are high and I do believe that these athletes should be paid for their time as entertainers, but I wonder if some of the problems they have aren't a result of their high pay. status, jobs. While I do realize not every professional player fits into this category, it seems that's all we hear about.
I did say I enjoyed college sports more, but at the same time college sports has it's issues too. While I personally am not a big Auburn or Ohio State Fan, I do wonder about the consequences for allegations and investigations. If our youth look up to professional and even college athletes, shouldn't these athletes and their parents at least have some decency to acknowledge the truth and realize the consequences for what ever decisions they make?
I hope that today, we all take the time to be the best men and women that we can be so that our youth can see right from wrong.
